Design Story
The Inspiration
Our journey began with a moment of inspiration during the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Zion Church's Annual Conference. A handcrafted portable prayer altar was presented to our Bishop, catching everyone’s eye with its blend of beauty and utility. Because it could be effortlessly transported between sessions and events, it became a focal point of the conference—admired not just for its craftsmanship, but for the way it invited a moment of peace wherever it was placed. The impact of that altar didn't fade when the conference ended. For years, we heard from congregation members who were still moved by that design, often asking how they might bring such a dedicated space for prayer into their own homes.

Answering the Call
Now, over a decade later, we are honored to finally answer those persistent requests. In 2024, we began an intentional design process centered on the needs of the modern believer. We focused on three pillars: comfort, functionality, and enduring quality. We recognized that for prayer to be truly transformative, the physical environment should support the spirit without distraction. Our designs were meticulously engineered to comfortably accommodate users ranging from 5'0" to 6'0", ensuring proper ergonomic support for the knees and back.

Reimagined for Every Believer
What started as a single spark has grown into a versatile collection. Today, The Kneeling Rail offers a diverse range of products tailored to all heights, ages, and accessibility needs. Whether for a young child’s first devotions or for those requiring specific physical support, we believe everyone deserves a comfortable place to kneel. With original designs now protected and owned by Cosmos Ministries, LLC, The Kneeling Rail has been reimagined for a new era. We are proud to expand our reach beyond our AME Zion roots, making these sacred furnishings available to believers nationwide.
